Title: Eye stuck shut
Post by: gunns on April 13, 2018, 02:37:00 pm
Has anyone woke up in the morning with their AN side eye stuck shut?  I had problems with my AN eye not closing completely or staying shut overnight for a week or two immediately post op. This problem went away on its own within the first month post op. At about five months post op that eye would be stuck shut in the morning. I’d have to open it with my hand or work its eye muscles hard to get it to open. It’s almist like it’s glued shut. I’m wondering if the eye is staying shut all night but isn’t getting enough tear fluid and gets sticky.  Any thoughts?

I use thick eye drops (celluvisc) and it glues shut at night.  I am happy because it prevents me from needing to tape my eye shut.

Seems like we have the opposite problem. Guess I should count my blessings that my eye is staying shut. Getting old really stinks!  With the balance issues it’s getting harder dodging those banana peels next to that hole in the ground. Sorry, just a little dark humor thrown in there. LOL!
