Title: Audio Adapter
Post by: keithk on October 26, 2010, 12:59:00 pm
Has anyone used the audio adapter accessory from BAHA? How does an MP3 player sound when using it?

Sounds scratchy, like an AM radio station.  I don't think it was worth the money. Better to use an earbud in your good ear.

Check with Leapyear twins, I think she has one also.

Keith -

I use the Cochlear MP3 adapter with my BP100 (now modified into a BP3) and absolutely love it.  I don't find the sound scratchy or like an AM radio at all.

I could be wrong, but I think Sam tried the adapter with someone's Divino or Intenso a few years ago.  Perhaps the BP100's better sound quality overall makes my experience better (?).

When I use the adapter, there is no need for an ear bud so I can listen to my iPod "without ears" so to speak.  One end of the adapter plugs into my iPod and the other end plugs into my BP100.  It's like a concert inside my head  ;D

I purchased the adapter when it was 1/2 price on Cochlear's website and it was well worth it.  Not sure I'd pay full price though - which I think is approximately $300.  I suggest waiting for a sale.
