Has anyone made a claim with SSD about your operation?
-
If you search for that term you will find quite a bit about people who have tried and failed and tried and won SSD. I failed! It is a tough row to hoe to get it, I guess. You really need a lawyer. Good luck.

I'm in the middle of my second appeal and awaiting a hearing which they say will take up to a year. I'm a year post op and did not try to file until months after surgery when things didn't go according to plan. Are you wanting to file before your surgery?
What are your problems? I was advised to keep a daily journal on how I felt and why I could not maintain a full time job. If you are earning 840.00 a month you'll be denied.

3 months post-op. Facial paralysed on left side, eye open no tears, hearing loss in the left ear. Tinnitus has doubled. Dizzy, light-headed, and balance problems. Fatigue and tired all the time. No motivation. I am 60 ears old. Own a business which I had to get out from under. Only income right now is my wife's. Bob

I recently was approved for SSD. My left over symptons are about the same as yours. I actually had disability insurance through work. If they hadn't told me about SSD i would have never filed. The lawyer from the insurance company said they look at people over 50 differently then those under 50. I do agree that I don't feel real confident about learning a new job in a timely manner. I look at it as a blessing and try to do as much with my life as possible. Good Luck, Cath

Bob you need to file pronto! Have you done so yet?
-
Hi Bob,
You sound like me with the facial paralysis, etc. Have you looked into the eye surgery? Gold weight, etc., I would not have been able to go back to work without having had it done, my eye burned so bad, every day I'd practically cry (often did).
All the best, Nancy
