Thanks for your kind words and of course, a very happy New Year to you, too.  I think we've all earned it, one way or another.

So many fond memories for both me and my caregiver Dave.
So many great laughs, great ideas, even recipes and books to read.
What more could any one ask of friends.
You're all lifesavers for sure.
To a wonder-filled 2010.
Cheers!
Nancy

Vivian  :-*

thanks so much for the new years wishes.....

As I sit here, knowing 2009 has been (in my case) a very "mixed" year of good and not-so-good.... my hope is that 2010 is happy, HEALTHY, propserous year  for all my AN friends.... we all deserve nothing but goodness in our lives and may the new year bring it it you all in over-abundancy.

Happy new year all!
Phyl

Happy New Year

I cannot believe how far I have come in 2009, and many thanks to many of you.

I was a newbie a the last year change and very scared.  Reading posts, learning and finding new research has helped so much. My small AN is more of a interesting path in my life (along with the bengin breast lumps which are the exact same size as the AN and the double entrapement ulnar nerves in my elbows - I am HEALTHY!).  I am a bit amused that such a healthy person (in my opinion) could have so many medical issues (minor in issue, thank goodness) crop up.  Alas, this AN has made me very patient and less fearful of the decisions to made over the next 2, 5 or 10+ years.  We shall simple wait and see.

Otherwise, I would say I am very lucky and blessed with an a great husband, an amazing gang of kidlets (I will post new pictures on the blog soon if anyone is at all curious) and still employed (I work for a Wall Street investment bank that laid off massive amounts of people over the past year).

Cheers to all of us in 2010.

I agree 2009 was a rough year.  I began 2009 with my dearest girlfriend finding out she has lung cancer.  She had a very nasty battle, almost lost it but continued to fight and was told she was "cancer free" three months ago.  The Monday of Christmas after routine testing she was told the cancer is back.  She waited until Dec 30 to tell her family and friends.  My heart is very sad.

Meanwhile this time last year my father-in-law's health started to rapidly decline.  He too was diagnosed with lung cancer May 14 and passed away Sept 18.  I tried to get him to the Dr's for 4 months but he was too afraid to go.  It was a very painful death.  He was a very difficult man in life and it was very hard to let go for the family because of so many unresolved emotions.

There was also the dissolving of a marriage.  Our friends married 25 years, kids went to school together, the woman had an affair on the husband.  Louie and I became sounding boards for both of them.   On a positive note they are trying to work things out, but Louie and I are stepping back.  Neither him or I can play marriage counselor any more.

So I say come on 2010 and give all that you got!  Yikes I'm 50 in 22 days...don't like that number!

No resolutions other than living life and laughing often!

Anne Marie

I've never been called a half-deaf matey before! Somehow when Capt Deb says it, it makes me smile!
