Hi,
I had my AN surgery last month for a 4 cm tumour, and had dryness in my left eye. As per doctors advice I wore black glasses and today when I removed the glass on the road under the sun I was not able to see freely the brighter side (side in which the sun was there) My eyes started closing automatically . however i felt ok after wearing the glasses. Has anyone felt the same. >:(

Praba

Hi Praba: Oh yea, you are not alone. Because I can't fully close the right eye, I wear sunglasses constantly when outdoors.
It also helps protect my eye from the wind. Nancy

Nancy,
Same here! I stepped out yesterday without my sunglasses to go to my truck and my eyes started to close too. The sun and wind are murder on my eye. I have to wear sunglasses outside and to work outside I have to wear the clear patch to keep the wind from drying my eye out.

Someone awhile back wrote in about these new sunglasses (Panoptx, something like that) that have foam around the frames & really protects against the wind.
I know Harley Davidson sells them (for motorcyclists) - they're pretty expensive, around $199.00, but they do have sales.
Now I've seen other eyeglass manufacturers are also selling them, can't remember the names. I haven't gotten around to checking it out yet, but the
woman who wrote in about them really liked them (she better at $199. a pop !!). Just an FYI, Nancy

So Kind of you people for replying my question. This Damn thing (closing of eyes ) which i experienced is eating of my confidence and I started losing my faith of overcoming the Post surgery effects. I also feel it when I see a bright light when I am indoors, My doctor told that it may because "The eyes have become sensitive to light source because it has practiced itself for the Sunglasses".
Nancy,
Does your tarsoraphy show a difference between your left and right eye. I ask this because mine shows a obvious difference and hence I am hesitant to even stay indoors without the glasses.
Cheers,
Praba :(

Hi Praba: No, my eyes look the same; of course, since the right eye doesn't blink unless I squeeze real hard (getting harder to blink now that the swelling's going down in my
upper lid - I'm waiting for a platinum weight since I had a reaction to the gold), people can see there's something wrong, but not in appearance.
Take care my friend, Nancy

Hi Nancy,
I have the stitches done to my eye and my dr says that tearing of the eyelids by him will be done in a span of 1 year from now. So sad. But I am happy that my AN surgery has been done perfectly since I do have good sense in my face and my eyelids blink as well however it does not wink.

Hi prabakaran,
I had the same problem as soon as I came out of surgery. So I wore sunglass inside and outside. The wind also gave me a problem. But I was back almost to normal about 7 to 8 months later. It's been 2 years for me and I still have to use eye drops. I still have no tears so the sun does bother my eye.
Listen to these people they all have real good ideas.
