I was wondering weight is better.
-
I have had both - I've had several gold weights over the years but only one platinum. The platinum one is supposedly thinner but mine slipped and had to be removed. I would say whichever one that your Dr is more accustomed to implanting! The last gold weight I got - & have in now - was done by a different Dr since I had moved. She put it in a different place & it is barely noticeable. People that don't know I have it, don't even see it! My others were MUCH more visible...
Don't think that really told you the difference...but has been my experiences!

Not sure about difference in material,, but there are different size weights just so you will know,, I have a 1.2 gram gold weight and was told I could have it replaced with .6 gram which would be less noticeable ,, just my two cents,,,,

Platinum is denser than gold so the same weight will be thinner in platinum. Also more people develop allergies to gold than to platinum. My eye surgeon will only use platinum implants.
Platinum is more expensive, but probably not significantly so within the total expense of the surgery.

like Sara said, platinum at same weight as gold will be smaller, so the appearance on your eyelid will be less visible.
