A year ago I had sudden onset hearing loss, earfullness, tinnitus and earache. After an initial diagnosis of swimmer's ear (hahaha) I was diagnosed with a 3.4 cm an. After successful treatment (surgery and radiation therapy) I still occasionally have an earache. After a stressful day or if I'm tired, my ear aches. Anyone else have this? Thanks to everyone who has shared - - your posts have grounded and inspired me.

Did you preserve hearing?

My ear aches from time to time too. A sharp shooting pain radiating external to internal. I’m 7 months post op. I chalked it up to something similar to phantom nerve pain as my auditory nerve was irreparably damaged during surgery. Not sure that’s a thing. I haven’t mentioned it to my surgeon as there is always so much else to talk about and it really is a sporadic thing. It’s on my list for next f/up.

Nick, mine is the same. Shooting pain and gone in a minute. Sporadic as well, it has lessened as time has gone on which is great.
