Hello everyone,
I am thrilled to announce the most terrific news. Last Wednesday Trish gave birth to her twin boys, Simon and Martin, weighing 6 lb 14 oz and 6 lb 6 oz. They are all doing well and the boys are very cute!
To all newer members of the forum, this is a truly amazing story and an inspiration to everyone. Trish (calimama) had AN surgery on June last year. She braved some post-surgery complications such as double vision and she became pregnant with identical twins. She had an uncomplicated pregnancy, which carried almost to term and delivered two very healthy and strong baby boys.
Congatulations Trish, Fabian and Cali!

She survived brain surgery AND the birth of twin, all in the same year. Yea!!! What a year it has been for her.
Those cuddly twins will keep her busy.

Hello Simon and Martin,
Welcome to the forum. I realize you are not here because of an acoustic neuroma, but much of the advice here applies to getting started in life as well.
The first three days don't count, perhaps not even the first three months in your case. Just rest, take frequent naps, and get as much nourishment as you can. You have just been born; give yourself a chance to recover. Give your Mom a chance too.
You may feel a little wonky headed at times, especially when you decide to try walking instead of crawling. Be patient and don't give up; in time, you will be trotting around like the rest of us. You may also find it difficult to talk at first. Give your brain a chance to adjust to your new circumstances; as it all becomes more familiar, you can start talking to the people closest to you. Before you know it you will be joining in with everyone.
Although we can share our stories with you, everyone has a different experience with life. As the famous philosopher Forrest Gump once said, life is like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're going to get. You will find out what a box of chocolates is in due time, and you will find out where your life is going to take you in due time as well. Plan on enjoying the journey.
Best wishes to you and your Mom,
Steve ;)

That's so great! Congratulations!!!

The little hat idea is great, but maybe in slightly different colors so that Trish can tell them apart. Or solid and stripe, maybe?
Just think, if they were a boy and a girl, one could be blue while the other one is pink.
It's so easy to be an idea person when I am not doing the actual work.

Congrats once again Trish
Haven't been following along on these boards very much over the past few months - but I think you of you often.
(as trish will know by now) - I ran into Fabian and Cali at the park. It sounds like the babies are simply lovely. I mentioned I wanted to come visit - I won't take Fabian's advice 'any time'. I can't wait to see some little ones. By the sounds of it, though, I had best get there soon, the boys are growing.
My advice to parents with many young ones - just don't ever stop moving. We acquired a fifth for the weekend (granted she was 7 and not 2, or an infant), didn't mean a thing to the routine - once you are busy with three or four (once they start sleeping through the night), one more just makes it happier, nosier and more memorable.
Can't wait to see you again, and meet the boys.

Trish, we are DYING to see some pics. When you get a spare moment, of course. Ha.
I'll bet they are getting so big already.

OK, here they are! As expected Trish is swamped, but she and her little ones are doing extremely well. She sent me this picture. They look just like their mom!

She promised that she will sent me some more recent pictures soon.

What a pair of good-looking boys. Nicely sized for twins, too.
Thanks for the pic.
Sara

Just what I like to see - twins sharing the same isolette. Studies show that twins do best when physically kept together after being born; when they are separated they sometimes can fail to thrive. I kept my twins together in the same crib until they were too big to share it without bumping into each other.
Thanks for sharing the pictures - they sure are sweet :)

Trish... they are BEAU-TI-FUL!!!!!!!!!! Congrats on your little bundles. I'm sure you are not sleeping enough between all the nightime activities that may be going on..... but seeing them makes at all worth while! Much joy/happiness to you all!
