Brief history,
2009...translab
2016...cyberknire
2017....retro
2021...regrowth.....How often can one have cyberknife. It did kill the tumour, but only the inside. Outside perimeter was still alive and is now growing again....from 17x7mm in Feb/2018 to 18x12mm this past novermber. My neurosurgeon's office is closed until monday. Just wondering if anyone has had more than one, or two treatments???

tenai98,
Reaching back to see what your doctors said? All worried about you and wanted to make sure you are okay.

Hi Tenai98,
I had five sessions of Cyberknife during April 2018. About one year ago my tumor increased in size by 2 mm. I am now on watch and wait again to see if it continues to increase in size. My next MRI is in September. I have been told by two different neurosurgeons and a radiologist that a second dose of radiation increases the risk of the tumor becoming malignant. If my tumor keeps growing, the doctors say that surgery is the safer option, although I am not convinced. I go back and forth in my mind, taking a chance with another dose of radiation or having brain surgery. It just seems that you have to weigh the risks and make a choice. None of the choices are any good, so when the time comes, if it comes, I will have to make a choice and deal with the consequences. Best of luck on your decision.
