I received Gamma Knife treatment by Dr. John Golfinos and Dr. Stephen Rush. I was referred by Dr. J. Thomas Roland. NYU also has Dr. Kondziolka on their staff. I think you would be well served to schedule an appointment at NYU. They were wonderful.

By the way Elena, Dr. Golfinos also does many, many surgeries for this condition Dr. Roland as well. Truly they are fabulous doctors and amazing people.

Drs Roland and Golfinos get excellent reports from their patients, as does Dr. Michael Sisti at Columbia Presbyterian, who does both GK and microsurgery, and Dr. Selesnick at Weill Cornell partnered with Philip Gutin at Memorial Sloan Kettering.

THANK YOU BOTH! Will try to convince my friend to see these doctors.
all best,

Elena,
I'm a patient of Dr. Stieg, and I have recommended him to family without reservation as well.
I've also seen Dr. Selesnick, and had a pre op consult with another doctor on your list. Regardless of the direction your friend takes, she is in very capable hands with any of the names on the list.
Best of luck!

Hi Elena,
I just had my AN removed last tuesday(12/8/15) at new york pesteryian hospital(columbia university) with dr michael sisti. He did an amazing job ans im recovering very quickly. Highly recommended, my AN was about the same size or slightly larger and he was able to remove 100% of it and save all my nerves. Please feel free to Pm me if you have any additional questions!

Hi Eddie,
Glad to hear you are doing well.
What method was used in your surgery? How is your balance post surgery?
I am debating translab vs. middle fossa for my tumor (if I take the microsurgical approach), but am scared of the possible balance issues that can come with translab. I have only lost 20% of my balance in the AN ear since mine is smaller than yours.

Will give all this info to my friend , hope she will choose right Doctor.
Dear Eddie, I'm glad to hear you are doing well, and wish you full recovery as soon as possible.
Happy Holidays and Healthy New Year to All of you!
