Has anyone found a place where eye medications such as ointments and artificial tears can be purchased in bulk or at a discount? I use a tube of Refresh Lacri-Lube each week. I would love to find an inexpensive source for it.
Thanks, Pat

Hi Pat, Sorry but I'm no help on finding bulk or discount ointment! I wish I was as I use a tube & 1/2 a day. I've been using a cheaper brand than Lacri-Lube that has 15% mineral oil and 83% petrolatum whereas Lacri-lube has 42% oil and 57% Petrolatum. I've heard the Lacri-lube is better but I can't afford it. The ointment I buy is around $2.65 or $2.99 a tube but it's getting harder to find. One company stopped making it for a while then brought it back at around $9 but didn't change it all. There might be one you could check out, Walgreen's now has an ointment with the same %'s that Lacri-lube has for $5.99 a tube I'm going to pick one up and see if it works. If it lasts longer than what I use then it's worth the extra money. If you try it and find it works like Lacri-Lube please let me know. Jill

The Walgreens brand works just as well as LacriLube or Refresh PM, another brand with a higher percent of mineral oil. I find that I have to reapply the less expensive gels almost as often as drops, so I do not even bother with them.
