Title: Annual MRI
Post by: jimmy r on November 21, 2008, 10:40:27 am
I had my first MRI since my surgery in June of 2007 and 30 radiation treatments in Novemeber of 2007 at Mass General. Only half of my tumor was removed during surgery. The MRI shows no growth
and the color is favorable. I don't have to go back for 2 years.  It is a big relief.

Great news!!  Good for you.  On Dec 09, I go for my 19-month follow-up MRI after GK in Dec 2006.  I had an MRI 6 months after GK; it showed some necrosis.  I hope I also get good news - as I'm sure I will.

Jimmy:

Congratulations - and thanks for sharing your good news.  :D

I had a similar surgery/radiation approach (based on the success of this procedure at Mass General) for my large AN, in 2006.  My last MRI showed continued tumor shrinkage and necrosis.  I'm on an annual MRI plan at this point but my symptoms are long gone and I feel great!  Its good to learn of other AN patients who underwent the same surgery/radiation procedure and are seeing success down the road.  May we all enjoy continued success.  :)
