Hey all
Just wanted to let you know that Kay's T3 surgery is today (Friday). I know that she could use and appreciate our prayers. For those of you who don't know, Kay had AN surgery when she was 25 - about 13 years ago. It was difficult and she was left with facial palsy and has had it ever since. Nancyann led her to the T3. Let's wish her the best. If you want to keep posted on the success, check out her blog.
http://threecurlygirlies.blogspot.com/
Best wishes, Kay.
David

best wishes to her asnd her family. prayers are with you.

" The moment I wake up, before I put on my makeup, I say a little prayer for you,
...At work I just take time, & all thru my coffee break time, I say a little prayer for you... "
Kay is in my thoughts & prayers .... Nancy
-
I'm thinking of Kaybo today and wishing her the best.
I'm hopeful the surgery will be a huge success for her.
Nancyann -
I didn't realize you recommended the surgery to her.
Is it the same surgery you had recently?
If so, I hope her results are as good as yours ;D
Jan
-
Best wishes Kaybo, today is the day, you have waited so patiently, you deserve the best!
Steve
-
Just wanted to let you all know that Kay's husband is posting updates on her blog. She was taken into surgery not long ago -- it's esimated to be about 4 hours.
-
I know we all have our fingers crossed that everything works out wonderfully for Kaybo!!
I know she'll make good use of that new smile!

Oh, Boy, lemmesee here, I'm a diggin through me pirate sock drawer again.......AHA! The ones with the pink and black stipes and the little jolly rogerette with the pink bow I believe!!! Yess! They're even clean! For those who don't understand---see the Good Morning Thread a couple hundred pages back. Pirates socks are donned for good luck aboard the Princess Batty Wench for those going in for "procedures" and such, and have always brought good luck.
Best of luck, Kaybo and our thoughts and good vibes are being sent your way!

LA thank you for your post.
I spoke to K last Sunday and she was very at peace with her decision and she does realize that her results may be different than Nancy's due to the length of time between surgeries. She is optomistically guarded as far as the results and is hoping for the best. I have never met anyone with such a positive attitude and acceptance of her life as it is now. We could all learn alot from her. I believe she is such an asset to out forum.
Nancy thank you for helping her to discover this option. She deserves to have her smile back and I am praying this will be her result.
Capt Deb those are my fav pirate sox and I believe you wore those for my surgery and it went very well.
K I'm sending you and Dave kisses to your foreheads. :-* :-* 16

K
You are such a special person and deserve only the best!!! As I've said before you are my HERO!
I will be in contact but will wait until I think you're up to talking. If you need an ear before or you want to talk please call me at any time. You have been there for me when I was down and I would like nothing better than to be there for you!!!
Big Healing Hugs to You Sweetie :-* :-* :-*
Glenda
PS... I just read your hubby's post that you are out of surgery and doing fine. I am so thankful!!! Talk to you soon!!!
-
David -
thanks for letting us know about Kaybo's blog - I'll check it out later for updates.
Glenda -
thanks for telling us she's out of surgery and doing fine.
Jan
-
From Kay's blog (2.53 PM March 28th). Her husbands comments, I assume. Sounds good.
Well Kay is out of surgery and doing fine, still in recovery.
The doctor said they had to remove more tendon that the originally thought but she is doing great!!
The doctor said time would tell how much movement she will have but he thought Kay looks great, I'm anxious to see her!
My prayers are with her.
Jim

Hey Jan: When Kay saw my before/after photos, she asked me about the surgery; yes, it's the same one Patti (Pattibobatti) & I had.
Had it NOT been for Patti discussing it about 2 years ago, I wouldn't have known about it either. Patti's the trailblazer here ! !
I've been thinking about Kay all day - I know she's in great hands.
-
You know, Nancy, that's another great part of this forum - being able to help others in the same situation.
I think it's wonderful that Patti informed you, and you informed Kay, and I'm sure at some point, Kay will inform someone else.
Doctors can only tell us so much; the input from others who have actually "been there" is so important.
I've found that myself, on my "BAHA journey", from reading posts and PMs from Joef, Ellis, Lori, Gramps, and many others.
Sometimes I don't know what I'd do without this forum; things would sure be a lot different.
It sounds like Kay is going well. I'll keep her in my prayers,
Jan

Hi kay,
We just met and I was from Round Rock. I wish I had been a more with it Newbie to figure out all that small print at the bottom of the page was info on what you have been enduring. I am so inspired by your bubbly personality with all you have gone through for so long. With your personality and spunk this will help you through this with flying colors. I want you to know my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Mary

((((HUGS)))) and prayers and everything XXXX'd for a successful surgery ..... and I apologize for not being on that much - my day is coming sooner than later and I am just a wee bit nervous. I KNOW you will be ok - you have a GREAT attitude and I just know you will be fine! ((((HUGS))))
-
Denise, don't be nervous, we will be lining up to wish you all the best when your turn comes up. ;)
Steve

Denise, don't be nervous, we will be lining up to wish you all the best when your turn comes up. ;)
Steve's right, Denise. We are here for you.
I saw on another post that you were doing or had done your pre-op testing so I know your surgery is soon. What is the date, again?
Sorry, I usually remember these things, but with all the recent surgeries - it seems like we had a lot of them - I lost track.
Jan
-
Hey Phyl
Regarding Jan's last post about losing track of things...has there ever been a calendar on this board where ANer's could post their upcoming procedures? Can it be done?
David
-
Hey Phyl
Regarding Jan's last post about losing track of things...has there ever been a calendar on this board where ANer's could post their upcoming procedures? Can it be done?
David
Good idea, David.
Maybe we could just create a topic under a section like this one (AN Community) and everyone could post their important dates there.
Just a thought,
Jan
-
I like the calendar idea, too.
According to this link: http://www.simplemachines.org/about/features.php, which is from the link at the bottom of this forum that says "Powered by SMF 1.1.4", the software that runs this forum, there is a Calendar feature. They use birthdays as an example, but why not procedure dates?
Steve
-
thanks for everyones prayers & sweet words - i MAY live...
k
i'm all for the calendar - i try to keep it all straight...where person is from too
-
K-
GREAT to see you back so soon! You're one tough cookie! I knew you'd miss us too much to stay away for too long! ;D
Hope every day gets better and better!
Lori
p.s And you were right, your husband is the sweetest!
-
Okay, where is Phyl ??? We need her input on this calendar idea.
And, K, I second what Lori said ;D
Jan

he is the best!!
what happened to book club?

Hi Kay: So glad to hear everything went well ! ! !
I know it doesn't feel like it now, but your right side WILL align with the left. Mine is almost there & I'm 4 months & 10 days out
(but who's counting ?). I couldn't even tell what were my lips at 1st: the left side was pulled all the way to the right, & the right side
of the lips were pulled up.
I know it's a rough time right now, the saying 'no pain no gain' sure is appropriate with this surgery. I'm so surprised you're already
online, geez, I still wanted to die one day post op (my poor mother heard me 'screaming it', I think the whole unit heard me !).
But knowing what my outcome is, I'd do it all over again ! !
Always good thoughts, Nancy
-
just took my 1st shower - did your hair come out in clumps?????????????????????????????????????
k
-
K - Don't worry about the hair thing - Steve is busy knitting us all some fancy new hats - maybe we can bump you to the top of the list to get one. :D
Nancy - I was just wondering yesterday how you were doing. Sounds like your recovery is going well! I'm sure Kay can take comfort in the fact that "this too, shall pass". I'm glad you're doing well!
Lori
-
Hi Kay: I had to call my mom to find out ! ! She said "yes', & alot of blood also (sorry for the graphics). I don't remember most of the
post op the first several days. (mom's my memory)...
Continue healing my friend, Nancy
ps: Lori - I'm doing great, thanks for asking. I'm amazed at how well Kay is doing !
-
We were also wondering if you had swelling in the throat that caused difficulty swallowing?
-
Hi Kay: My mom said I had difficulty swallowing, & it went on for maybe 5 days post op.
I can't remember if I felt like my throat was swollen, I know I didn't have trouble breathing,
but due to the tubes down the throat from surgery, I had trouble swallowing.
I could only use a catheter attached to a syringe to drink from for about a week.
On day 6 post op (for you it'll be Thurs, Apr. 3rd.) I finally felt well enough to go outside for a walk, & I could
put tiny pieces of chicken & hamburger in my mouth (there was an Irish pub across from the hotel, got my
hamburger there).
Day 7 we flew home, & day 11 (a Sat.), I was able to drive myself home, about 50 miles from mom's place.
Hang in there Kay, don't push yourself, rest, rest, rest; each day will get a little better.
-
WOW,
My hat goes off to both of you Kay and Nancy. This is truly amazing to be able to be a part of your journeys. You give all of us hope and inspiration. I hope next Aug we all meet in Chicago face to face. Sending you both hugs and kisses from Ont Canada.
Anne Marie
P.S. I kiss on both cheeks, so be ready!!!!
-
K - Don't worry about the hair thing - Steve is busy knitting us all some fancy new hats - maybe we can bump you to the top of the list to get one. :D
Indeed, and we will waive the requirement to shave your head. :D
Kay, I'm glad to hear you are okay; as Nancy said, just take it really easy for a week. You'll be up and about in no time.
Steve
-
Hey Kay
I posted it on another thread but I'll say it again -- Congratulations!!!!!! May you have a very successful and speedy recovery. I'm betting that you and Nancy will have quite a few notes to compare.
Glad to have you back -- although Dave did an excellent job of keeping us posted. Please thank him.
Get some rest and enjoy that view of the harbor.
My best
David
-
Hey Anne Marie: I guess it's a 'good thing' I don't remember all of the post op.
I do remember it is a rough 1st week, & yes Steve, resting/healing is so necessary
immediately post op (I don't think Kay's a 'couch potato' like I use to be, so this
1st week will be harder for Kay than it was for me !).
August in Chicago, it only gets better than that because all you guys will be there.
WHOO HOO ! ! ! ! !
-
Nancyann & Anne Marie,
I'm hoping to meet you both in Chicago - oh, and everyone else, of course ;D
Jan
-
Hi Special K!
I've been off to my Mom's in NC and just got home and I was so surprised to see you had already posted! Congratulations!!
Please give a BIG thanks to Dave for his postings on your webpage, you really do have a terrific husband!! I know you are such a strong person but like the others here have said take your time and rest....... Sending hugs and well wishes your way :-* :-*
Nancyann, I'm so glad to hear you are doing so well after your procedure too. You girls are two wonderful gals who deserve only the best outcome!! :)
I love the idea about the calendar!!!!!! It is indeed hard to keep up with everyone's procedure dates..especially since my memory isn't what it used to be. ::) I try to write them on the calendar but I'm afraid I may miss someone.
What a great group of people you are!!!!!!
Glenda

Kay
Checked your blog and you left off with the picture question. So what was the outcome? How are the girlies doing -- are they anxious to see you? How do you feel? And the biggest question, when do you get to go home?
My best
David
-
Hi All!
We are still here in Baltimore. We go to the Dr. tomorrow to get the stitches out -- I am a little anxious about the right side -- it is "hard" but Dave and our friend, Melynn, say it looks SO much better. I probably will put up the picutures tomorrow (once I know everything is going OK)...starting with the worst so then I'll look better! The girlies are REALLY missing us (& we miss them but know for sure when it will end), but I think it is mainly when they talk to us -- we learned a long time ago NOT to call home at night! If everything goes as planned, we are scheduled to fly home Friday morning at 10:50 and will land at home at 3:30. For the most part, I feel OK. I am getting nauseous off & on (which didn't start until yesterday) but I think it has to do with a liquid diet and so many medicines in my system. Then when I have tried to eat more substantial (but still can't really open my mouth), I get nauseous b/c my stomach isn't really use to real food anymore...I'm sure it will all work out!
Thanks everyone for your well wishes and prayers!
K ;D
-
K -
glad things are going well and that you will be able to return home on Friday. I'll bet the girls miss you and your husband; they'll be so thrilled to have you home :)
Good luck with your appointment tomorrow.
I'm looking forward to the pictures,
Jan
-
((((HUGS)))) sweetie - you truly are an inspiration! ... and look forward to seeing the new YOU! XXXX OOOO
-
I'm so glad that you are healing a little each day. I can not wait to see the pics. I'm very excited to say the least. I'm sure you and Dave are anxious to get home and see your beautiful girls. Have a great appt and a safe flight if I do not talk to you before you fly home. :-* 16
-
16
How are you?????
David
-
K - good luck tomorrow. I know you'll feel much better once you're home with your girls again. I hope your flight goes smoothly and I can't wait to see pictures!
And 16 - yes, how are YOU??? Hope you're doing okay too... my goodness, everyone has to stay healthy around here - just with the normally scheduled surgeries, we can't have illness on top of that too!!
Lori
-
Thank you Lori and LA for asking. I am still very ill and having allot of pain and feeling sorry for myself. I do not do well taking pain medication but that is all I can do along with antibiotics until the infectious disease Dr is back in town. Which is this Friday and then hopefully we will have some sort of treatment plan and a surgery date scheduled right away. My husband and I have a trip to Palm Desert planned for May 2 to May 11th planned and I do not want to miss it so I must get better and very quickly dang it anyways. Keep up your prayers as I still need them and will let you all know what I find out after my appt on Friday. 16

David, Steve, or anyone else, can you tell Kate where the link is?
Thanks,

Hi Kay: I just saw your pictures on your blog - You DO look good for being 6 days post op.
My lips were pulled much more & did not look like lips. Yours look great. (you've got beautiful lips, if
you don't mind my saying so).
I think because I had much more of a droop & my face is aged more he had to
stretch/pull them more. Yes, he CAN predict how it will come out. He takes a
geographical approach, 'mapping' in mm for correct alignment. (he'd have made a
great astronomer back in the day). Thank you for posting the pictures. You 're
going to love the results - I know I do. Now, what's that word ? oh yea, PATIENCE ! ! !
Always good thoughts, Nancy
ps: In about a week, you're going to start needing to apply a scar medication with silicone in it. I use Scar Zone - it was the only one I could find with silicone, in Walgreens. When I went for my 7 week visit I showed it to Dr. Byrne & he said that was fine, but wanted me to also use spf30 & wear a large brimmed hat when going outside (my scar had gotten a little red from not using strong enough spf).
-
Kaybo's posted pictures 8)
I'll have to head over to her blog and check them out!
I purchased a scar medication for my son not too long ago and it says on the bottle that it has silicone in it. It's called ScarCare, it's manufactured by scarguard and I purchased it online at drugstore.com It was kind of pricey, but it worked well on the burn scar my son has on his cheek.

I agree with some of the comments on the blog, Kay has Angelina Jolie lips. Based on the comments from Nancy above, about how it will turn out, I think it is pretty clear - Kay is going to be hot! :-*
I also think it is cool that this thread is now headed into a discussion of scar creams. Please continue. 8)
Steve
-
Personally I thought Kay went a few rounds with Mike Tyson. But Kay came out on the winning end. You're beautiful and Dave knows it. May the Lord bless you two with the happiness you deserve.
You guys and the three girlies rock!
David

I also think it is cool that this thread is now headed into a discussion of scar creams. Please continue. 8)
Just because we have jumped from Kay's surgery to the AN treatment calendar to scar creams and back to Kay's surgery, doesn't mean we aren't staying on topic here :D
I posted a message to Kay on her blog earlier, but I just wanted to chime in and say that despite the bruising and swelling it's easy to imagine how great Kay will look once she is fully healed. Marvelous - just like Nancyann. In fact, in light of what Kay's been through, I'd say she looks pretty darn good already :)
Jan
-
She is a beautiful Woman inside and out this is one thing I know for sure. K I'm glad you are home and going to have a slumber party with the girls. Love you! :-* 16
-
Kay - you seriously are looking more beautiful after each day - - I really can see the change :) You should post some before and after pics!
You look great and your attitude is phenom!!!!!
-
Yep, Kay, Dave was so right - you ARE beautiful! Love your blog.
You are an inspiration!
Debbi (3 weeks, part of one day, and counting...)

Debbi
I'm enjoying your Blog too. I really had to laugh -- your Collie does look neurotic. And as for the balance ball, maybe if you let some air out of it you could make a chair out of it -- sort of like a beanbag chair. You're sounding very positive -- keep it up! We will all be there for you in three weeks and along the way.

Jan & Nancy~
Thanks guys! I feel pretty good - I am just trying to stick by my guns and take it easy through tomorrow like I said I would. I'm a little concerned about the "drainage" but it still looks OK. I probably will call on Monday...
Jan~I have on my sock monkey PJ's!! ;D
Have a wonderful weekend!!

K -
I wore the same PJs last night! They are so comfy!
Spring was here, but it left and the weather has turned cold again. We're supposed to be getting snow flurries later today and tomorrow :'(

Jan

It has just been so WINDY here -- the girls practices were even cancelled!! You know it is bad then b/c we have wind ALL the time & just do everything in it!! Hopefully, it will warm up again after this weekend.
I have been reading Debbi's blog too!
K

Hi Kay: Yes, call Monday, best to be safe....
Jan: Where's Debbi's blog - I must have missed it ! !

I found it in her signature line.

Thanks Jan - what a nice blog Debbi started, & a very happy person !

K:
Just checked out your blog and you're looking darn good for just two weeks post-op. I pray that the surgery will ultimately be successful. Whatever happens, you certainly have a beautiful family. Those 'Three Curly Girlie's' are adorable. :)
I'll be following your healing and recovery - along with many others. We all wish you the best of outcomes.
Jim
-
Kay: I did not know your husband is 'older' than you. Obviously you & the girlies have kept him 'young at heart'
You guys look about the same age to me !
-
YEP! Almost 11 years!!! ;D And I am a spoiled princess (along with the girlies!)
K
-
No way. 11 years older :o
He doesn't look it at all :)
-
I am so glad you are doing well - - and I DITTO everyone - you look terrific! ((((HUGS)))) to the little rado-block though - you will be fine - I just know IT!
-
Hello All~
Just a little update on my face, & an appeal for prayers to get this mess staightened out!! Apparently, I have or am in throws of getting an infection in my incision on my cheek. Not a horrible thing...and hopefully nothing that can't be fixed, but just more time & effort. I go to the Dr. this afternoon at 2:15 (finally got one to look at it after 3 tries -- no one would look at it - one said I should go back to the doc that did it!) and hopefully he can get done what needs to be done or send me to the Wound Care Center here. I spoke to Dr. Byrne (love that man! really think he was home sick!) and he said that it sounds like I need to "fluid drain" put in. Near as I can remember (& the pieces I wrote down), that is "new gauze soaked in sterile saline" that I think will be changed either daily or a couple of times a day. The places where the fluid are draining are tiny and I asked him how they would get it in there and he told me that they will probably have to "open those up a bit." I can't feel anything on that side, which I consider a type of blessing considering all the trouble I have had w/ that eye & the work I have had to have on that side over the years, but does pose a problem since I can't tell how bad it is hurting. I just don't really feel that great and have a headache (a sign for me that something is not right) -- I had been feeling really good! :o) Dr. Byrne said that out of all these that they have done, they have only had ONE person have any troubles,at all, & that was at the first before they took your own tendon from your leg. They used a synthetic material in the lip and they attributed the infection to that - guess I dispproved that!! Anyway, I told him that if something could go wrong, it would be with me!! LOL!!! ;D
So basically, it sounds like they will be reopening my incision, packing it, and I will be on some pretty strong antibiotics -- again, nothing like say...brain surgery, or anything...but please keep me in your prayers none the less -- I have 3 girlies (& a sweet hubby) I need to be up for!!
K
-
Ouch! .... continued prayers and hugs for a good recovery! I can sympathize with the headaches - I have them daily now :(
I hope they get everything straightened out for you and and you can continue on your recovery :) ((((HUGS))))
-
K -
sorry to hear this news :(
Prayers are coming your way,

Lots of prayers and good ju-ju coming your way, Kay. Sending a big (but gentle) hug your way, too.

Hi Kay,
I am sorry you are having to deal with this complication. I hope when you read this that things will be turning back in your favor. You have a huge cheering squad here and your adorable curlie girlies I am sure are the cutest cheerleaders you have (no offense Forum members ;))
Take care,
Mary
-
Oh Kaybo... I am really sorry to hear of this setback. I don't know where you get your strength (but bet there are curls on top!).
I will think of you before sleeping tonight - i am not a prayer - but will be sending to you the kind of good energy that goes from one big heart to another. I am sure time will right all of this. Hang in there.
behind you and wishing you all the best from Toronto Canada

I posted that I was off to the hospital this morning but i guess i didn't hit post! I am in the hospital now -- updates on blog
K
-
Kay
I just read your Blog. I am so sorry to hear what's going on. There was so much there that I had a hard time understanding what was at the bottom of all this and what the next steps and long term is (I can be very dense). I am concerned about you and you have my prayers for you and your family. I know it's hard to be positive, but do your best. And I know this is easy to say, but please don't second-guess yourself. The Lord works miracles and you know it. Also, I didn't understand the part where you said the doctor needs to cover his butt -- I know it's not in your nature, but if you feel anything in wrong, please speak up. I wish you the best.
God bless you and your family.
David
-
Kay,
You KNOW I'm sending hugglezzzzzz.... hang in there hun... IV antibiotics may just do the trick! Good vibes... good vibes......

Phyl

Kay: I'm so sorry this is happening to you..... putting out positive thoughts & prayers that these post-op complications will be treated quickly.
Continued healing, Nancy
-
Hi Kay,
Just read your blog. My heart is with you. I am so sorry you have had this complication, but I am glad you are getting hospital care.
Your worries about your girls really touched my heart. First it is VERY obvious your girls have a GREAT mom!!! That kind of love kids feel and know whether a Mom is sick or well. They know your spirit, too. I am sure with your personality they do not see you as a sick mom, but as a role model for them. I am friends with both of my kids now that we are all adults (they are 30 & 37). As kids, they knew we loved them in spite of different unexpected things going wrong. What parent has everything go correctly when raising children? If they say they did all correctly, that in itself makes me know they probably were not the best of parents. We want to protect our kids from hurt, we cannot help that, but in the long run, we can't protect them from having some and it prepares them for the future with the gift of the parent's love as fuel to face it. Don't know if I am making ANY sense. Although we haven't met, I can tell from your emails and blog that you are a great mom and your kids know it. You go girl!
My thoughts and prayers are with you,
Mary

I'm sorry to hear you are in the hospital, but hopefully you won't be there for long. I'm hoping that our prayers and good thoughts, in addition to the antibiotics, will help you get past this hurdle quickly.
You are one of the most positive people I know and it makes me sad to see you so frustrated and feeling like you aren't doing what you should be doing as far as your girls are concerned. From what I know, I can say with confidence that you are a great mom and that you put your family first 99.9% of the time - which is a lot more than other parents do; myself included. You shouldn't feel guilty for finally doing something for yourself. And, as David said, please don't second-guess yourself. You had no way of knowing that you would get an infection; you said yourself that the chances were very small and you had no control over what happened.
I don't think your girls will look back on their childhood and see this as a negative experience. On the contrary, I think they will look back at it and remember how courageous you were and see you as the wonderful role-model you are.
I know you are going through a very tough time, and I wish I knew how to ease your burden. Please know that we are here for you.

Hi K
Just read your blog, sorry, my husband hasn't been doing well and we have been going to the doctor's alot and I had gotten behind on catching up with you. I did not realize you had been back in the hospital but am so glad you are home now. I'm soooo sorry you are feeling so bad. Sometimes we do not know why things happen to us but know that God uses these things to make us stronger. I know you are such a strong person already!!! Sweetheart, your girls know what a wonderful mother they have and I know how they must look up to you. You are in my prayers and I pray you feel better really soon!!!! Sending healing hugs and many prayers your way! :-* :-*

I'll echo what everyone else has said. I'm sorry to hear about the bump in the road, but it's just that...a bump. You'll get through this and we're all here to help in any way we can.
Prayers and good thoughts being sent your way from Houston.

Thanks everyone -
I am feeling better -- going a bit stir crazy, but better! I am home...w/ a PICC line and IV! Dave is a wonderful nurse -- he will have to go in late the next couple of weeks though so that he can do my IV at 8:00. That bag takes about an hour & 20 minutes. I don't do it again until 8:00 PM and also another bag for about 30. Not too bad except that when they put the line in, they hit a nerve (I won't even go into what that felt like -- I could describe it but my mom would wash my mouth out w/ soap!!) and now it is resting on a nerve so I can't really use my right arm!! CRAZY...but if it helps me so that they don't have to go back in again! My face is not near as swollen but the original "hard spot" is still there -- hopefully it will go away soon - I will feel a LOT better when that happens!
Keep praying! ;D

Jan~
Thanks for asking!
Yes, I went back to the doctor this morning. Dave & I thought we knew what we were going to say/do, but then we found out that the original CT scan showed "normal post operative tissues" instead of a fluid collection -- we were ready to say "drain it or we're out of here!" Since we found that out, it kind of changed things. It is very frustrating b/c we don't know WHAT to do!! Even though my face is still "draining" from the incision, I guess I am a little better - a little more energy, etc. They did say from the beginning that I would be on the IV for at least 2 weeks -- I guess it just takes time. I'm wondering now if the "hard spot" is just scar tissue and will go down on its own and that the incision got infected & is TOTALLY different...who knows...it could have gotten REALLY badly infected w/o me really knowing since I feel NOTHING on the right side. Anyway, I go to the hospital tomorrow for them to do another CT scan and the orders say that if there is something there, to go ahead and drain it. The nurse said that if it was too involved for the radiologist, then they would set me up w/ a plastic surgeon (will they take me??). We are still doing the IV's...that is all I know right now!!

I will pray that first of all you do not need a plastic surgeon. If you do I will pray that you do not go through the finger pointing game again and as I have.
Let me know if we should celebrate, cry with hugs or come out fighting for someone to take care of you.
Have a good nights sleep and I am sending you very soft forehead kisses so I do not wake you. :-* :-* :-*
PS I just sent you an email and I think I will go with that plan. 16

thanks for the update. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this frustrating situation, but I'm hopeful that in the end everything will work out fine.
Like you say, and it's one of the old AN mottos, things take time. Try to be patient - I know it's hard.
Good luck with the scan tomorrow. Let us know how it turns out.

Hi Kay: I don't know if it's the same 'hard spot', but the area on my cheek where the incision is stayed very hard for awhile, until the cheek started coming down to normal position. I never had the drainage you describe though.
My thoughts & prayers are with you - hang tough girlfriend !
Always good thoughts, Nancy

Hey Hey David~
I was just thinking about you as I was watching a new episode (FINALLY) of Women's Murder Club - love that show - didn't you say you were in one??
I am glad to finally have a clear plan of action - I just hope that they can get me in & get me taken care of. May is so busy for the girlies - that is why I wanted to have the T3 surgery before May!! I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers on Friday! Do you have to stay overnight? Somewhere I got that impression...

PS - My BIL found a dead body out in the water by the Santa Monica Pier Sunday morning while he was paddling...ooogggyyyy!!!!!
