Title: Gamma Knife at USC or UCLA?
Post by: AriesGirl on May 23, 2013, 12:10:28 pm
Hello everyone,

Has anyone out there had Gamma Knife treatment at either USC or UCLA?

If so, which doctors did you see?  Can you tell me a bit about your experience and how you're doing now?

Thanks so much!  Still trying to make my treatment decision.

Jill

Hello Jill;

   I find nothing in 'search' at the upper right corner of forum pages. I'm sorry ...

I had GN two years ago at another UC hospital. I am not familiar with your two choices, but I do feel as if I was well treated at my 'local' hospital.   My AN was smaller than yours so it is not exactly comparable, and all you can do is talk to the radiologists, the surgeons and anyone else with local experience that you can find.  I did a lot of reading on the internet.

When I was doing my research I could not find anyone that used these hospitals or any GK with great experience in CA.  I live in Orange County and wound up  going to Pittsburgh. I had things boiled down to where I would go for each treatment; UPMC or NYU for GK or Stanford for CK. I went to House in LA since they were in CA but had already ruled out surgery. Send me a PM if you'd like to discuss further.
