Title: Eye sight improved after AN surgery??
Post by: 4cm in Pacific Northwest on June 16, 2008, 10:49:42 pm
I had my annual ophthalmology (optometrist) appointment today. My eyesight on the AN side actually now has better vision than before I had the retrosigmoid surgery.  8)

GO FIGURE that one?!? :-\

I am still wearing the stick-on eye weight ,on occasion, as an alternative to using the eye drops.

I guess healing not only happened but things, as far as the eyesight anyway, are better than before surgery. I wonder if the whopper tumor was, before-,putting pressure on the optic nerve.

I think I have come along way since I initially inquired here about eye bubbles, pirate patches, goop and eye weights. I thought I’d share the good news. My optomologist said my corena looked terrific. :)

Now if I could only move my eyebrow without getting the weird dimple-in-the-chin thing (synkinesis)

Cheers,

Daisy Head Mayzie

Daisy~

YEA!!  You know mine actually went from 20/400 to a wavering 20/30-20/50 (even though it is mostly not that good b/c of the moisture issue) - my SIL thinks that they must have wiggled my optic nerve in there a little...LOL!!

Congratulations!

Way to go Daisy,

My vision has gone for a nose dive, especially when my face bothers me.  My glasses offer no relief at times.  Oh well just another little bump along the way!

Daisy:

Congratulations on your improved eyesight!  What a pleasant surprise.  :)

I would guess that the AN was putting at least a bit of pressure on the optic nerve, but who knows?  I'm just guessing.

Whatever the reason, I'm glad you've had at least one positive thing come out of your AN experience.  Enjoy your newly-improved vision.
