the first few weeks ... the only time I was awake was to eat !!...and I've seen you eat!! LOL! ;D
No problem, Phyl... with all these AN related money making ventures I've come up with lately, one of them's bound to pay off... when they do - then I'm buying! And if they don't, Jan can just pick up this tab
Gee, I'm late to log on today and already Lori's volunteering me to buy the drinks ??? I'll definitely be at the symposium but I'm thinking that Steve will want to buy all the drinks for everyone, so I don't want to insult him or make him feel bad by offering to do so myself ;D
I do know that cognitive thinking is affected by brain surgery. I'm five months from my surgery and I still find myself stuck for a word.

In follow up to David's comment, the medical community and ANA have recognized that an AN (and related treatments) can cause cognitive issues... so much so, there were discussions/workshops at last year's ANA Symposium in Philly covering the topic.

Thanks for this info, Phyl.
I wish I would have been at last year's symposium; this is a discussion/workshop I would surely have attended. I wonder if these issues last forever or go away in time? Anyone who attended the symposium know?
Jan (way broker than Lori)
Is broker even a word ???
Brian was up and walking again this morning and actually went through a bowl of cherrios and a few strawberries. He had some juice as well. He has one concern at this point that maybe you can all help me with. He is still very slow with his speech and he told me he felt "mentally retarded"... like he was not as smart as he was last week.
maybe if we sweet-talk Phyl she'll mention to the powers that be at the ANA that the moderators need a few cars. Say like a Lamborghini and a Jaguar ;)
Jim, Willie wants to know if he can drive your lamorghini? ;D
Debbi - race-car drivers wife
The only snag so far is that by my calculations, the ANA membership dues will be going up to $2,500 per year. Are you guys okay with that? ;D
Pooer, where are you, man??
That'll show him - he ignores us and we'll change his name to Pooer :D
I am not on Diamox, but I still have a lot of taste issues. Initially everything tasted like metal. Now it tastes like extremely salty metal. Yum.
Jan, haha! The lawn! I haven't done the lawn myself in YEARS! It really plays havoc with my allergies so we pay to get it done. It gives us more time with the kids and my allergies don't suffer for it. :)
HOWEVER...the guy was here a little while ago to fix the dryer and he looked suspiciously like Jim Scott's photo - you know he is a tricky one with the whole name thing...do you think he is undercover all the way in Texas??????????
It is important that one has a protein intake of some kind to help incisions heal. Many of our elderly hip surgery pts always had to be reminded of this.
Pearly Whites smile ;D keeps us well fed with treats of popcorn and chocolate that are not good for our teeth …but we eat these because they are delicious and are comfort foods. Her huggles alone are also comfort food.
Brian~
I still have some IV bags of antibiotics in the fridge in the garage and a pole if you want it!! ;D
Haha..What if I post pics of my fat graft scar wearing my garage-made picc line equipment? Would I win??
Isn't Jim buying at the symposium this next time? Or is it someone else's turn? ;)
Willie and I are planning on going to the symposium next year, so we look forward to meeting you and Jenni and everyone else there! Let's hope we're all healed up by then!
Yea! Phyl will be there giving free beer and free trips on the moderator jet!?!? Oh, happy day! Or, was that only for me and Jenni? I forget.. Yknow how the mind goes.
Geez! You guys are feeling very generous today :D
I'm just going to sit back and see how long it takes Phyl to find this thread and comment :D
Jan
HEY! I've been hijacked! Heh. It feels, um.. kinda good. ;)
So, Drake Hotel next summer, eh? Phyl's giving away free beer and free rides on the moderator jet, very cool! Does it get any better than that?!? ;)
Brian
The 2009 symposium is in Chicago at the Drake Hotel. August 14th-16th.
Wait, who is that you are vegging out with? Did I miss something?
Hey! Who is this "bride" chick? Has she been lurking in my house unbeknownst to me? ;)
Jenni

Hey! Who is this "bride" chick? Has she been lurking in my house unbeknownst to me? ;)So, Brian, about the doctor. You say he's single. Is he married? (Just kidding).
Jenni
Jan
Hey, I am seeing a possibility for an AN Matchmaking service here... Jan and Brian's new opthalmologist .... hhhmmm 8) Could this be a nice add-on to the Garage Brain Surgery biz?
I have a VERY cute, single doc that I'm dying to set up with someone!
