Walk4Hearing is an annual event sponsored by the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA).  Walk4Hearing is the largest walk of its kind taking place in multiple cities across the country.  Thousands of walkers - children and their families, young adults, young at heart and everyone in between - form teams and walk in their communities to increase public awareness about hearing loss, help eradicate the stigma associated with it and raise funds for programs and services. 40% of funds raised from Team ANA will go to ANA.

If you have trouble registering, please contact Tracy.  The primary goal of the walk is to increase awareness.  Of course we hope every walker can raise his or her own donations by making requests of those people in their lives who may be affected by an acoustic neuroma or by anyone experiencing hearing loss: family, friends, audiologist, your doctors, physical therapists, church members, coworkers to name a few.

If you would like to set up an optional personal page, use this text provided and insert your personal information where prompted.

RSVP to Tracy Denmark Schwimmer if you will be participating and she will be in touch with further instructions for pre and post walk activities. If you do not wish to join the walk, please join us at Lake Ramada inside the park at 10:45 for caring and sharing time.

This will be a GREAT day doing our part to raise funds for this worthwhile organization and enjoying camaraderie of our fellow AN'ers.

Who should attend? Family members, caregivers, friends and interested persons are encouraged to attend.

Benefits of attending a local support group include communicating in a nurturing, non-judgmental environment with others who have shared a common acoustic neuroma experience; sharing information on dealing with specific problems, overcoming handicaps and reassuring others that better times lie ahead; educating and informing each other about the latest acoustic neuroma topics of interest; and providing emotional support to all patients, both pre- and post-treatment. This helps in reducing the isolation and loneliness that many acoustic neuroma patients feel.

Note: In no case does ANA endorse any commercial product, physician, surgeon, medical procedure, medical institution or its staff.
