diabetic reaction to antibiotics

My son has had a reaction to metronidazole,he is diabetic should this drug been prescriped for him.

I don't think being diabetic should have anything to do with a reaction to the antibiotic.   Is he allergic to any other antibiotcs?              I have seen this given fairly frequently at the hospital where I work and can't saw have seen too  many allergoes to it.      Cheryl R.

  with nerve graft 3-23-06
   CSF leak revision surgery 4-07-06
   left mid fossa 4-17-08
   near deaf on left before surgery
   with hearing much improved .

What does that have to do w/ acoustic neuromas??

In my case it was the steroids I took after the surgery that caused my blood sugar to shoot up. I am not a diabetic and one shot of insulin helped me quickly.
