Help with understanding the AN "language"

OK, I've lurked... and now I want to understand!  What is "SSD" and NF1 and 2?  retrosigmoid? I realize I should know, but I don't!

I had my surgery October 5, 2015; I was pretty ill - awful headache and nausea, because the tumor was pressing on my brainstem, compressing my brain ventricles, and I had fluid buildup.  It was done on an emergency basis, and I wasn't really very aware of what was going on. 

Thanks for your help!  Any explanations for what these (and other terms) mean would help me out.

Retrosigmoid a medical way of saying where they make the hole in your head to get to the tumour

Thanks, PaulW!  SSD - single sided deafness.  Now wonder I saw it with most posts! 

I am SSD too! And thanks, retrosigmoid sounded a LOT more complicated...
