Statement about the Center

At Stanford Acoustic Neuroma microsurgeries involve a collaboration of a neurotologist and neurosurgeon. Radiation treatments involve a radiotherapist in collaboration with an Acoustic Neuroma clinician. The Stanford team sees several hundred new Acoustic Neuroma patients each year and performs approximately 70 microsurgeries and 70 CyberKnife treatments. Stanford uses all available management strategies including observation, stereotactic radiation (CyberKnife), and microsurgery depending upon the unique circumstances of each patient. To maximize functional preservation in microsurgery, a flexible mixture of the three approaches are utilized (translabyrinthine, middle fossa, and retrosigmoid).
